What is a political solution to this Economic Crisis?

As usual, if the answer seems unattainable, look at the question. The reason why we have the economic crisis, is because of politics. The solution to the economic crisis, is to let the free market fix it. The Government is not the solution, it is the problem. The Government mandated loans to people who could not afford it. This led to a false demand for housing and inflated housing prices. When the cost of living went up, due to gasoline price hikes, we had inflation. There was no corresponding wage increases. There were too many people looking for jobs. Then interest rates went up. People could no longer afford the mortgage payments on their homes. many houses hit the market due to mortgage forclosures.House values went down and houses were no longer worth what people owed on them. The solution would have been to place a business man in charge of fannie and freddie and AIG and let the government get out of the business world entirely. Regulations such as suggestng who gets loans and who doesn't is a recipe for disaster.
