Does the U.S. have to win 2 straight to not be elimated from the WBC?

They loss to Venezuela last night. I don't believe Venezuela has lost in this round though, right? Puerto Rico has been eliminated. Is there pool down to just the U.S. and Venezuela? Would that mean that the U.S. has to beat them twice? And on the other side, since Japan lost, and Korea hasn't, would Japan have to beat them twice? How does this work?
