High school fashion trends?

I'm going into high school next year. :) I'm shorter. I'm also skinny. I'm 4 foot 8 inches, and weigh, around 85 pounds. So, I want to know if there are clothes that make you look taller, besides the obvious(Heels).Stuff like jeans, and fits of shirts. I also want to know what things are in. My style is preppy with skater mixed in. My hair is a little past my shoulders. Currently my favorite brands are billabong, American eagle, hurley, Aeropostle, hollister, and Roxy.
