Is the USA the best country in the world?

I always distrusted deep patriotism. I grew up cynical. And, as a reader of history, we had civilizations that thought themselves "the best" [Fenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantium and others] now are only ruins for tourists attractions. And I see this country wasting large amount of money in weapons and adventuristic childish wars, while business is losing to foreign competitions, our schools go lacking books and materials, little health care and a growing bad service in many businesses. What do you think?
