What type of music are these bands?

Some of them are more pop than rock but rock/alternative/indie seems to be the most consistent genre. Some bands that you have listed like Metallica and Korn are metal though. Basically, these bands generally range from pop/punk to heavy metal. Its not a very good list to generalise because there is such a mix.
