Why does my 3 month old make a squeaking/skidding sound?

Sometimes my 3 month old makes a funny sound that sounds like, when she's breathing in, a sort of "skidding" - leep "eep, eep eep" only without the "p" sound. Is that anything to worry about, like asthma? She snores at night and her dad has sleep apnea and I had childhood asthma, so I worry...
